Recovery methods for this drive enclosure
- Deleted files or a reset volumeLogical recovery from drives that still workYes
We image the drives, then search the volume for deleted files and for the volume as it was before a reset. Stop using the unit straight away: new writes overwrite deleted data.
- Failed drivesDrives that click, don't spin or have bad sectorsYes
Each failed drive is imaged on its own. Hard drives that have to be opened go into our clean room, with donor parts matched to the exact drive.
- RAID reconstructionRebuilding an array from its member drivesIf you set one up
The enclosure presents each drive on its own. If you joined them with software RAID on the computer, we rebuild that array from the drive images. If not, each drive is recovered separately.
About this model
- No built-in RAID: the enclosure presents each drive to the host separately, so any array on it is software RAID created by the computer or by a TerraMaster NAS (TOS storage pool).
What recovery costs
With no RAID in the enclosure, each drive is priced as a single hard drive: £150 – £350 for deleted files or a damaged volume, £250 – £450 for a drive fault, and £480 – £750 if the drive has to be opened in the clean room. If the drives were joined in software RAID, NAS and RAID recovery applies: £750 – £1,500+. All prices are plus VAT. Inspection is free, and you get a fixed quote before any work starts.
